Once the spout is rotated into place, simply pull straight back on the safety trigger and then press down on the thumb release trigger to precisely control the flow of fuel. Best can I have ever used since the advent of safety spouts. No fighting with press down spouts while trying to hold up a 5-gallon can. Good airflow in. When sealed, does not leak even in hot garage or SUV during travel. Only can I will buy from now on.
